About Satyricon
An influential black metal outfit led by core members Satyr (Sigurd Wongraven) and Frost (Kjetil-Vidar Haraldstad), Oslo's Satyricon emerged in 1994 with Dark Medieval Times, which was rooted in the blazing blastbeats and icy atmospherics of traditional Norwegian black metal. As the decades progressed, so did the band's sound, with elements of post-rock and industrial metal added to acclaimed efforts like Age of Nero (2008), Deep Calleth Upon Deep (2017), and Satyricon & Munch (2022).
