About M.O.P.

M.O.P.—or Mash Out Posse—is the Brooklyn-based hardcore hip-hop duo consisting of rappers Billy Danze and Lil’ Fame. ∙ After earning a reputation in East Coast rap with the 1993 debut single “How About Some Hardcore,” M.O.P. released their first album, To the Death, in 1994. ∙ Executive produced by DJ Premier and featuring appearances from JAY-Z, Gang Starr, and Naughty By Nature’s Treach, the duo’s 1998 LP, First Family 4 Life, was a breakout success. ∙ M.O.P achieved global fame in 2000 with the best-selling, Silver-certified album Warriorz, which produced the Top 10 singles “Ante Up (Robbin Hoodz Theory)” and “Cold As Ice.” ∙ Working under the name Fizzy Womack, Lil’ Fame has also had a successful career as a producer for Wu-Tang Clan, Termanology, and Ghostface Killah.
