Alfredo Olivas

Alfredo Olivas, who wrote his first corrido at age nine, has gone on to compose more than 1,000 songs. ∙ He released his first album, El Patroncito, at age 16. ∙ In 2015, Olivas was shot onstage after dedicating a song to a female fan (allegedly by a jealous boyfriend), but he survived. ∙ His songs have been covered by such popular artists as Enigma Norteño, Los Cuates de Sinaloa, and Julión Álvarez. ∙ His tracks “Y Por lo Pronto” and “Pongámonos De Acuerdo” have won BMI Latin Music Awards. ∙ Olivas’ 2018 song “El Problema” spent 20 weeks on the Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart, peaking at No. 1.
