About The SteelDrivers

American bluegrass band The SteelDrivers—consisting of banjoist Richard Bailey, guitarist/vocalist Matt Dame, bassist Mike Fleming, fiddler Tammy Rogers, and mandolinist Ben Truitt—are known for infusing contemporary rock, soul, and blues into their traditional style. Formed in 2005 by Nashville session players—including future country solo star Chris Stapleton—the group released their self-titled debut album in 2008. “Blue Side of the Mountain,” a track from the first full-length, earned the group their first Grammy nomination, and 2015’s The Muscle Shoals Recordings—their fourth LP—won Best Bluegrass Album at the 2016 Grammys. A mainstay in the genre—with several albums hitting No. 1 on Billboard’s Bluegrass Albums chart, including 2020’s Bad for You—the group’s passion for celebratory and soulful cuts shines through on 2025’s Outrun.
