Town Mountain

An acoustic string band with honky tonk leanings and rock & roll energy, Town Mountain rose out of Asheville, North Carolina, in the latter half of the 2000s, delivering tightly crafted independent albums like 2007's Original Bluegrass and Roots Country and 2008's Heroes & Heretics. Over the next decade, their reputation reached well beyond Appalachia, netting them a Band of the Year award from the International Bluegrass Music Association and an ever-widening audience. An aggressive touring schedule and well-received albums like 2016's Top Ten-charting Southern Crescent eventually helped Town Mountain earn a contract with Americana specialists New West Records, which released the band's seventh LP, 2022's Lines in the Levee.
