California dream-pop duo slenderbodies—Max Vehuni and Benji Cormack—are in demand both as remix artists and downtempo performers. ∙ Formed in 2016, Vehuni and Cormack said that they chose the name slenderbodies because it conveys how their music has a “light airy feel while also being grounded.” ∙ EDM producer/singer ZHU hired the duo to remix the hit “Hometown Girl,” from his chart-topping 2016 album, Generationwhy. ∙ Their live breakout opportunity came when they were named to the lineup for 2019’s Lollapalooza festival. ∙ The single “Cherry Blossom” was the first of a new batch of music they created during the pandemic lockdown of 2020.
