Thalia Zedek Band

The Thalia Zedek Band is the creative vehicle for Thalia Zedek, a vocalist, songwriter, and guitarist who is one of the most respected figures in indie rock, a compelling vocalist with a weathered but expressive instrument, and a guitarist whose style runs the gamut from introspective minimalism to free-form noise. After making fierce, imaginative music with early bands Live Skull and Uzi, she found her voice with the edgy, blues-informed Come. When Come disbanded, Zedek struck out on her own, leading her own band that added viola to the guitar/bass/keyboards/drums formula. They made their debut with 2008's Liars and Prayers, a bracing fusion of rock, blues, and jazz. After consolidating their strengths on 2013's Via, Zedek confronted social and political issues on 2018's Fighting Season and 2021's Perfect Vision, and added pedal steel guitar to the mix on 2025's The Boat Outside Your Window.
