The Hard Quartet

The indie rock supergroup the Hard Quartet was formed by Pavement founder Stephen Malkmus, Chavez founder Matt Sweeney, the Cairo Gang’s Emmett Kelly, and Dirty Three drummer Jim White. They debuted in mid-2024 with the track "Earth Hater." "Rio’s Song" and "Our Hometown Boy" followed before the group issued their debut album, The Hard Quartet, on Matador in October 2024.
