About Chelsea Cutler
Singer and writer of heartfelt songs, Chelsea Cutler is also an impressive producer. Born in Westport, Connecticut in 1997, she released her intimate debut single “Your Shirt” at age 20. A year later, Cutler released two mixtapes and made the difficult decision to abandon her studies (and soccer career) at Amherst College to go on tour with Quinn XCII. Linking up with kindred spirit Jeremy Zucker in 2019, she scored the platinum single “you were good to me” and later followed up their brent EP with further releases bearing the same name. Cutler showcased the depth of her songwriting and production on her 2020 debut album How to Be Human, inspired by an epiphany she had in a hotel room after leaving both college and a two-year relationship. “I just remember sitting on this hotel bed,” she told Apple Music in 2020, “thinking, ‘I literally don’t know how to be a person.’” Yet despite that powerful bout of uncertainty, by 2021 she had teamed up with Noah Kahan for an update of her song “Crazier Things” and reunited with Quinn XCII for the gold-selling “Stay Next to Me.” Cutler’s 2023 album Stellaria saw her extend her creative reach, involving herself in not just pre-production and recording but also mixing and post-production. By then, there was no doubting her talent for combining meticulous loops and layers with sharp, sensitive storytelling.
