About Adrian Younge

Adrian Younge applies a crate-digger's perspective to an organic syntheses of myriad Black music idioms with international progressive rock, pop, and film music. The producer, composer, and multi-instrumentalist registered first with a soundtrack for Black Dynamite (2009) -- the first of several works for visual media. 2011's Something About April expanded his scope with conceptual psychedelic soul that led to helming albums by the Delfonics, Ghostface Killah, and Bilal. After Younge and Ali Shaheed Muhammad's lush 2018 The Midnight Hour, they launched the Jazz Is Dead platform. Its first three series showcased artists including Roy Ayers, Marcos Valle, and Tony Allen. During series three he finished his lovestruck trilogy with the Portuguese-language Something About April III (2025) and collaborated with singer Samantha Schmütz for Adrian & Samantha. Additional Brazilian projects, along with the orchestral Younge, and Joyce E Tuti Moreno JID027 appeared in 2026.
