About The Zolas
Canada's the Zolas are a melodic, '80s post-punk and '90s-style alt-rock-influenced outfit centered on singer/guitarist Zachary Gray. Formed in Vancouver in 2009, the Zolas began as a collaboration between Gray and former Lotus Child bandmate keyboardist Tom Dobrzanski. Together, they debuted with 2009's Tic Toc Tic, which featured production from Howard Redekopp (the New Pornographers, Fancey, Tegan and Sara). Three years later they delivered Ancient Mars, featuring the track "Knot in My Heart." They fleshed out the band's lineup around 2015, adding bassist Dwight Abel and drummer Cody Hiles. A year later they returned with their third studio album, Swooner. ~ Matt Collar
