Chip Wickham

Roger "Chip" Wickham is a saxophonist, flutist, producer, and composer. His warm tone complements a signature brand of modal jazz that weaves together the spiritual and vanguard traditions of the '60s and '70s yet reflects the creative British scene's 21st century innovations and global music traditions. Before releasing his first two albums -- La Sombra in 2017 and Shamal Wind in 2018 -- Wickham served as a producer, sideman, and multi-instrumentalist with Nightmares on Wax, the Pharcyde, Graham Massey, and others. 2020's Blue to Red won critical and DJ accolades internationally. Wickham signed to trumpeter Matthew Halsall's Gondwana label for 2022's Cloud 10. In 2025, Wickham served as a featured co-billed soloist on the Lewis Express's Doo-Ha! in March, and in September issued his own The Eternal Now. In May 2026, he was a co-billed soloist on the Outer Worlds Jazz Ensemble's The Kármán Line - Black.
