Manowar worship power metal, yet they frequently cut it with hard rock. On “All Men Play On Ten,” singer Eric Adams screeches like a heavy-metal overlord, while the rhythm section's bulldozing swagger reaches back to '70s rock; “Blow Your Speakers,” with its shouted choruses, has a similar vibe. And although “The Lord of Steel” is more orchestral, the central riff comes slathered in greasy swing.
