GRP Records: The First Decade
Apple Music
Production team Larry Rosen and Dave Grusin founded GRP Records as an outlet for their freelance projects in 1978. Operating under a label agreement with Arista, they released landmark works by Patti Austin, Noel Pointer, and Earl Klugh. By 1982, GRP broke free as an independent label and promptly became a go-to source for smooth jazz and adult contemporary.
