Rock music has always been popular in Argentina, but the '80s and '90s saw an unprecedented flowering of the alternative rock scene. From the ska-heavy sound of Los Fabulosos Cadillacs, to Soda Stereo's New Wave (fronted by the late, great Gustavo Cerati), idiosyncratic groups rubbed shoulders with classic rockers, and the results made for some of the era's greatest music.
