In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. When I was 10 years old, the drummer from my church did not show up, so I asked my father who was the music director to play the drums. He was surprised because I had never played the inst. before but he let me play, so I surprised everyone. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico, Salsa Con el Gran Combo de Puerto Rico Gilberto Santa Rosa, Colegas Zayra Pola, Te Va Gustar I choose these three albums because El Gran Combo has been my school of Salsa, my lifetime mentors. Colegas is one of my favorites because it is full of good Salsa by the master, and finally my own album because its my first baby. I did it with love. Tell us why you chose this song. “Polita” In this song I share my story, how I was discriminated for choosing to study an instrument that was consider for "men" only, but also how I overcame all of the challenges and prejudice so today I can be the artist that I want to be. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? My first live concert back home. After 12 years of living abroad, I finally moved back to Puerto Rico and got to perform my music for my boricua. The energy of the concert was incredible, everyone dancing and the stage was on fire. It was special! Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? Yes, I want to relase more music for my audience and hopefully go on a world tour so I can perform live and share the energy with all of my Salsa dancers, and go global. I also want to collaborate and make new music with big artists.
