About Timbaland
Emerging in the mid-’90s, Timbaland is part of a Virginia collective that helped change hip-hop and R&B forever. Born Timothy Zachery Mosley in 1972, he gained significant attention after producing Ginuwine's double-Platinum debut album, Ginuwine... The Bachelor, an LP that gave us the legendary baby-making anthem "Pony." He showcased his knack for quirky, futuristic sounds again when he produced Missy Elliott's Supa Dupa Fly, a critically acclaimed album that garnered praise for its stylish soundscapes and Elliott's dynamic songwriting. From there, Timbaland continued to flourish, suffusing Aaliyah's music with spacey ambience, helping introduce the world to Bubba Sparxxx, and making hits with the likes of Justin Timberlake ("Cry Me a River") and Nelly Furtado ("Promiscuous") as he crystallized his status as a chameleonic producer for the ages.
