About TesseracT

Tesseract was created in 2003 as a solo outlet for English guitarist Acle Kahney who was playing in the band Mikaw Barish. The alternately brutal and cerebrally progressive metal project eventually morphed into a band and an early adopter of the djent style, which relies heavily on tight, palm-muted riffs that sound much like the word itself (it was coined by Meshuggah guitarist Fredrik Thordendal). Their debut EP Concealing Fate appeared in in 2010, followed by the long-player One in 2011. 2012's The Perspective EP, featured a cover of Jeff Buckley's "Dream Brother," and was followed by a second studio album, Altered State in 2013 and Polaris two years later. ~ James Christopher Monger
