With his unique fusion of trap and heavy metal, rapper Scarlxrd is one of the more innovative hip-hop artists of the millennial generation. • Born in Wolverhampton, England, Scarlxrd got his start at age 17 as a YouTube vlogger named Mazzi Maz. • In 2014, Scarlxrd founded the nu-metal group Myth City, for which he was lead vocalist. • The rapper draws influence from Limp Bizkit, Slipknot, Rage Against the Machine, Eminem, Missy Elliott, and Nelly. • In his music videos and live performances, Scarlxrd wears a black surgical mask that has become his trademark. • In 2018, the rapper released his major label debut, Dxxm, via Island Records.
