About Myles Kennedy
Alter Bridge cofounder and Slash collaborator Myles Kennedy is the total hard-rock package thanks to his soaring howls and killer fret-work. Kennedy was born in 1969 and raised in Idaho and western Washington state, where he blasted Led Zeppelin yet also embraced classic soul and studied jazz theory. After fronting The Mayfield Four from 1996 to 2002, Kennedy was approached by Slash on behalf of Velvet Revolver. Kennedy declined, instead cofounding Alter Bridge with Creed shredder Mark Tremonti in 2004. The band’s success led to more offers for the vocalist. After a 2008 jam session with Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham that didn’t materialize into a working project, Kennedy was once again invited by Slash to start a band. This time he agreed, with the pair forming Slash featuring Myles Kennedy & The Conspirators, who have scored a string of ferociously chugging hits like 2014’s “World On Fire” and 2018’s “Mind Your Manners.” Kennedy has also found time to launch a solo career. His 2018 debut, Year of the Tiger, foregrounds the rich, bluesy soulfulness that has underpinned his music since youth.
