About Slash

Saul Hudson, known professionally as Slash, is a British-American songwriter, producer, and performer best known as lead guitarist for the hard rock band Guns N’ Roses.

∙ While still with GN’R, he formed the supergroup side-project Slash’s Snakepit, whose 1995 debut album, It’s Five O’Clock Somewhere, sold more than a million copies worldwide.
∙ In 2002, Slash joined the supergroup Velvet Revolver, whose single “Slither” won the 2005 Grammy Award for Best Hard Rock Performance.
Rolling Stone included him among their 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time, and TIME ranked him No. 2 on their list of the 10 Greatest Electric-Guitar Players—behind Jimi Hendrix.
Slash, his chart-topping 2010 solo debut, featured an all-star cast of musicians, including Iggy Pop, Fergie, Lemmy, Ozzy Osbourne, Alice Cooper, and Dave Grohl.
∙ Along with his bandmates in the classic lineup of Guns N’ Roses, he was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2012.
∙ His 2014 solo album, World on Fire, spent half a year on Billboard’s Hard Rock Albums chart, peaking at No. 1.
