About Kim Walker-Smith
Christian singer-songwriter Kim Walker—now Kim Walker-Smith—first sang onstage at age three, performed in musical theater during high school, and gave her life to God at 18. ∙ In 2005, Walker won first prize on the TV vocal-competition So You Want to Be a Star. ∙ After joining the Jesus Culture youth ministry at Bethel Church in Redding, California, Walker and other worship leaders formed a band of the same name and started releasing albums in 2006. ∙ A video of Walker’s impassioned performance of John Mark McMillan’s “How He Loves”—from Jesus Culture’s 2007 LP, We Cry Out—has racked up 23 million views. ∙ She married worship leader and guitarist Skyler Smith in 2009, and in 2013 the couple released the well-received collaborative album Home. ∙ Walker-Smith’s third solo LP, 2017’s On My Side, hit No. 1 on Billboard’s Christian Albums chart. ∙ Jesus Culture received a Grammy Award nomination (Best Contemporary Christian Music Album) for 2018’s Living With a Fire.
