About Cattle Decapitation

Grindcore and death metal are genres not known for their compassion, but San Diego’s Cattle Decapitation use their furious musical assault to preach their vegetarian and animal rights beliefs. Together since the mid-'90s, the band has consistently used the genre tropes of grisly death metal as laid down by their main influence, Carcass, to explore society’s ills, particularly as they relate to environmental abuse. Albums like 2002’s TO SERVE MAN, 2004’s HUMANURE, and 2009’s THE HARVEST FLOOR are hyper-technical and whiplash fast, played with clinical precision and maximum violence, but with clear production that doesn’t obscure their vital message.
