The Order of Israfel

A Swedish doom metal outfit that incorporates elements of folk and hard rock into their epic sound, the Order of Israfel was founded in 2012 by Tom Sutton (ex-Church of Misery) and Patrik Andersson Winberg (ex-Doomdogs), Hans Lilja, and Staffan Björck. Based out of the metal mecca that is Gothenburg, the band's impressive doom pedigree quickly landed them a deal with Napalm Records, who issued their impressive debut, Wisdom, in 2014. Bold, cinematic, brutal, and mysterious, the quartet's sophomore studio long player, Red Robes, followed in 2016. ~ James Christopher Monger
