Rebirth Brass Band

Featuring a meld of classic R&B, New Orleans funk, soul, rock, and jazz, the Rebirth Brass Band were formed in 1983 by brothers Phil (tuba) and Keith Frazier (bass drum), along with Kermit Ruffins (trumpet). The band's discography is long and varied, beginning with Here to Stay, released on Arhoolie in 1984. By 1989, Rebirth landed at Rounder, which released Feel Like Funkin' It Up and a slew of good recordings that followed throughout the '90s. In 2008, they self-released 25th Anniversary and kept rolling with 2011's Rebirth of New Orleans and 2014's Move Your Body. ~ Richard Skelly
