About Carlos Henriquez

In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I remember being 15 years old and having the opportunity to get up on stage with Tito Puente to play Ran Kan Kan. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Eddie Palmieri, Palo pá Rumba Tito Puente, Dance Mania, Vol. 1 (Remastered) The Puente album showed me rhythm's power, especially bassist Bobby Rodriguez, whose playing I'm still studying. Palmieri, a human rights activist, taught me to fight for justice through melody & rhythm, with deep respect for Afro-Cuban music. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? The most memorable moments in MY career so far have been giving back to the youth and my communities. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? As I reach my elder years as a man, I would love to be the Artistic Director of an arts institution, so that I can create and spread the love and knowledge I've built throughout my years of being a bassist.
