The Ahmad Jamal Trio was performing, and I found a way to sneak into the theatre during the soundcheck. After the concert, I introduced myself and he said he noticed me there! Bill Evans, Tony Bennett, The Tony Bennett / Bill Evans Album Chick Corea Akoustic Band, Chick Corea Akoustic Band Fred Hersch, Fred Hersch Plays Jobim These albums are the ones I enjoyed the most through the years and that are an inspiration for my own albums and piano playing. Such a rich tapestry of color and calm. It reminds me of Poinciana (Song of the Tree) from my Fuzzy Colors album, a piece featuring the beauty of the poinciana tree. 🍂
