El Gran Silencio

Mexican rock en espanol band El Gran Silencio combined a dizzyingly diverse array of styles to deliver a truly international mix. Led by brothers Tony and Cano Hernandez, the group infused its energetic rap-rock with heavy doses of cumbia, reggae, trip-hop, ska, punk, metal, and other traditional Latin styles. In addition, the band is known for often adding non-rock African, Latin, and Middle Eastern instrumentation to its sound. After garnering a huge fanbase in Latin America, the group branched out further, playing large festivals in the United States, such as Coachella.
