Woods of Desolation

An Aussie black metal project spearheaded by multi-instrumentalist D, Woods of Desolation combines the icy bleakness of traditional melodic black metal with elements of post-rock and shoegaze. The project earned mainstream acclaim with the release of 2014's As the Stars, which found its way onto multiple year-end best-of lists. D unveiled the group's long-awaited fourth long-player in 2022, the Season of Mist-issued Falling Tide.
