About Jahranimo
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. Performing on sound systems and stage shows in Jamaica under the name Apache. After migrating to Canada and embracing Rastafari, evolved into Jahranimo, then later iRanimoo. All of those names are now fully retired — I now go by the name Ranymo. What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Bob Marley & The Wailers, Legend – The Best Of Bob Marley & The Wailers Early B, Super Cat, Early B Meets Super Cat Protoje, Who Knows (feat. Chronixx) [SHY FX Remix] - Single 1) Bob Marley & The Wailers — I love every Bob Marley album. 2) Super Cat — Cat is my musical idol. 3) Chronixx — I’ve always loved Chronixx’s music. I love my own work too — especially *Evolving* album as Jahranimo, the *Quadruplets* EP as Ranymo. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Ras In U Life” “If you want to be my lover, sacrifice have to make." It's the first song where I truly *singjay* instead of deejaying and chopping lyrics. This song is really a turning point in my musical journey. Plus it's one of my favorite song to perform live. What’s one of the most memorable moments in your career so far? I have many, but two stand out: performing as Apache at Jarrett Park on Independence Day and getting multiple encores, and my final show before migrating to Canada, where I was called back on stage again and again. Both moments shaped me. Is there anything left on your bucket list as an artist or band? A major goal still on my list is doing a collaboration with Super Cat. It’s a no-brainer because he’s one of my biggest living musical idols.
