About Blake Mills
Known for his artful blend of indie rock, country, and singer/songwriter folk, Blake Mills is a highly regarded session guitarist, Grammy-winning producer, and recording artist in his own right. He has performed with artists ranging from Dangermouse to Weezer. A founding member of Simon Dawes, he broke through with 2014's widely celebrated Heigh Ho. That same year, he shared a Grammy for Album of the Year with Alabama Shakes. Along with work for artists like John Legend, Randy Newman, , and Jim James, he released the critically acclaimed Mutable Set in 2020. The following year, Mills collaborated with bassist Pino Palladino on Notes with Attachments. In 2023, he recorded the soundtrack to the fictionalized rock biopic about Daisy Jones & the Six. Out of that process grew his fifth album, Jelly Road. He re-teamed with Palladino for 2025's That Wasn't a Dream.
