Raq Baby's Chicago roots and Atlanta home base inform a mix of drill and trap that the rapper illustrates with plainspoken boasts and themes of horror and mortality. Inspired especially by Lil Durk, Chief Keef, and other MCs from his birthplace, he started releasing music commercially in 2022, and the next year he greatly expanded his audience with "Soldier Love," which appeared on Maniac Baby, his first project. Two more sets, El Peligro and Bloody Holiday, were out before the end of 2023. Abstruse arrived the next year with "My Bitch" and "Dead Bodies & More Maggots" drawing high streaming figures ahead of a deluxe edition that added eight tracks, including "Day by Day." Spill Season and More Spill, issued respectively in late 2024 and early 2025, collected loose tracks. Full-length I Never Gave AF arrived in September, followed by its deluxe edition at the end of the year.
