Joni Mitchell, Joni Mitchell Archives, Vol. 3: The Asylum Years (1972-1975) Neil Young, After the Gold Rush The Band, Stage Fright (Remastered) "Stage Fright" is a both an individual writing exploit and a collective masterpiece. On "After the Goldrush" the 11 lyrics read like chapters in a novel. Joni Mitchell's songs are always absolutely personal. Remind me of my own striving for honesty. Tell us why you chose this song. “Sad Eyes (Like Lake Superior)” This particular song I wrote about "the unlived life" of my mom. She carried a secret bucketlist of dreams (that my dad couldn't make true) and projected them onto me. Which made my early childhood sometimes difficult and laden with scary emotions.
