Equilibrium

Germany's Equilibrium is an epic folk/pagan heavy metal band from Bavaria with a lineup that has changed many times. Formed in 2001, they blend traditional Germanic melodies with pagan-folk-black metal adorned with cinematic sounds and textures, and lyrics about European mythology. Later, they incorporated metalcore elements into their music and began writing lyrics in English. They released Turis Fratyr in 2005. After two years of touring and lineup changes, they issued 2008's Sagas, their Nuclear Blast debut. Following a yearlong tour, they released Rekreatur in 2010. The evolving lineup returned to recording with 2014's Erdentempel, followed by a world tour. In 2016 Armageddon was received with critical acclaim. Three years later, Renegades was met with mixed response. They issued half a dozen singles between 2023 and 2025, including "Cerulean Skies." Equilibrium returned with the full-length Equinox in 2025, performed with a choir.
