LEGENDARIO

LEGENDARIO

A trailblazing act that helped ignite the contemporary corridos movement, Legado 7 occupy a rarefied space in a now-massive scene. Led by singer Alexander Guerra since its inception, the Southern California group opts to end on its own fearless terms with the spirited swan song LEGENDARIO. Surrounded by guests whose collective diversity speaks to the band’s reach, they are able to emphasize their signature norteño sound with that unmistakable 420-friendly essence intact. Their prowess for what has become known as corridos verdes persists on cuts like “PERSONAL” and “LOS MENSAJES DE WHATSAPP.” Yet even at a self-imposed end, there’s still fresh thematic terrain being explored here by way of “ARROGANGSTER” and “GRANDES LIGAS.” This expands further with each collaboration, be that opposite hitmaker Tito Double P on “GUERRERO” or alongside Rey Quinto on the narco paean “ME MIRAN.” Gabito Ballesteros helps give proud voice to the Mexican-American military service experience on the rousing “SOLDADO AMERICANO,” while Los Primos Del Este add to the ranchera storytelling behind “NOCHE NEGRA.”
