TRAPO 2

TRAPO 2

K-Trap has come a long way since his early days of wearing a balaclava to hide his identity, and he’s recognized that. “Pro in the streets, but I made much more off beats and Pro Tools/Why would I stay in the streets?” he asks on “FEEL INSPIRED.” But the cover of TRAPO 2 shows mirroring images of his revealed face and his masked face, and he showcases that duality throughout. The tape starts with an assault of boastful drill tracks like “SHOOTERS BE” and the Headie One-assisted “MYSTERY BOX,” switches up for a pair of romantic jams with “PRESSURE” and “CAN’T SAY NO,” and he gets personal on “DEMONS,” where he balances survivor’s guilt and gratitude over gorgeous violins and pianos. But when he connects with fellow drill luminary G Herbo on the penultimate track, “CHANGE,” he insists that he’s the same K-Trap as before. “Still pain, but we just mask it up/And I ain’t changed, I pack this flame in this Ferrari truck,” he says.
