Formed in 2024 out of K-pop-esque competition show Dream Academy, the LA-based KATSEYE quickly shot to global superstardom through a combination of meme-ready hyperpop tracks like “Gnarly” and radio-friendly pop hits like “Gabriela.” On WILD, members Sophia, Lara, Yoonchae, Megan, and Daniela (sixth member Manon was on hiatus for the recording of the EP) continue their unpredictable pop adventure. “PINKY UP,” a techno-pop banger about having fun as the world races to its end, and flirtatious, Brazilian funk-inspired lead single “Hootie Frutti” are ready for the club dance floor. Meanwhile, the Ed Sheeran-penned pop groove of “Animal,” the synth foundation of Charli xcx-written breakup bop “Bel Air,” and the vocal flourishes of Y2K-inspired “That Way” offer up a smoother, more accessible sound. “We always want to make an impact and leave an impression anywhere we go, and I think the biggest way we can do that is always through our music,” Sophia told Zane Lowe in April 2026. “So we like keeping people on their toes. And we like just releasing things that we enjoy and we just want to dance to, or we can connect to or [that] bring out a lot of emotions.”
