Talented songsmith Alexandre Désilets reinvents his repertoire with an orchestral twist on Windigo. Five days holed up with a 16-member ensemble inside Radio-Canada's Studio 12 was all it took for the visionary artist to reimagine select songs from his previous three releases. Opener "Plus qu'il en faut" takes the funky, atmospheric modernity critique from 2010's La Garde and fleshes it into a swirling dreamscape of woodwinds, strings, and percussion. Indie love anthem "Perle rare," from 2014's Fancy Ghetto, is given an enthrallingly lush makeover, while acoustic lament "J'échoue," from his 2008 debut Escalader l’ivresse, acquires breathtaking depth.
