Wintersleep

Wintersleep are a Juno Award-winning Canadian band whose literate, textured indie rock helped propel them to mainstream success in the 2000s. Based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, they spent their early years cultivating a strong regional following before breaking out with the 2007 single "Weighty Ghost" and its parent album, Welcome to the Night Sky. Major tours and an opening slot for Paul McCartney followed, and their next two albums, New Inheritors (2010) and Hello Hum (2012), made the Canadian Top 20. After this, Wintersleep left the EMI-affiliated Labwork label and signed with established indie Dine Alone Records, which issued 2016's The Great Detachment and 2019's In the Land Of, the latter being longlisted for the Polaris Prize. The band fell into a hiatus during the front half of the 2020s before returning in 2026 with their eighth album, Wishing Moon.
