Nea

Nea—born Linnea Södahl in South Africa to Swedish parents and subsequently raised in Sweden—worked as a songwriter and occasional featured vocalist before stepping in front of the microphone as a solo artist in 2019. Her debut single “Some Say”—an interpolation of Eiffel 65’s 1998 hit “Blue (Da Ba Dee)”—then became a hit across Europe. She followed with a four-song EP of the same name in 2020. As a songwriter, Nea has written for Axwell of Swedish House Mafia, British rapper Tinie Tempah, Zara Larsson, TWICE, and Felix Jaehn, the latter who also produced a popular remix of “Some Say.” After releasing a string of singles in the subsequent years and her indie-pop full-length TRANSPARENT in 2024, the artist leaned into breathy and sultry pop with 2025 tracks like “Unaffected” and “Boys will be Boys.”
