German producer, DJ, and songwriter Topic has surpassed a billion streams with “Breaking Me,” his 2019 dance-pop collaboration with Swedish songwriter A7S. • Tobias Topic began making music at 16, after a teacher introduced him to the audio software Logic Pro. • He formally debuted in 2014 with “Light It Up,” featuring vocals from fellow rookie Jona Selle. The song was included on Topic’s 2015 debut album, Miles. • In 2015, Topic and friend Nico Santos broke through with “Home.” The single charted in Germany, Austria, and Australia. • Topic teamed with former Fifth Harmony member Ally Brooke for the 2018 single “Perfect.” The song went Top 40 on Billboard’s Hot Dance/Electronic Songs chart and earned the pair a Teen Choice Awards nomination for Choice Electronic/Dance Song. • “Breaking Me” stormed the charts around the globe.
