Vetiver

Led by Devendra Banhart's right-hand man Andy Cabic, Vetiver is, like Banhart, heavily influenced by the psych-folk sounds of the '60s and '70s. But where Banhart takes that inspiration to a rarefied, exotic place, Vetiver channels it into a more earthy, accessible approach, with a touch of late-'60s San Francisco. They released their self-titled debut in 2004; four years later, their third album was an all-covers affair that laid those hippie-troubadour influences bare with affection and respect.
