About Dillon Carmichael
Country singer Dillon Carmichael began performing in local bars while still in high school and was offered a publishing deal at age 17, right after one of his sets. ∙ He credits his country superstar uncles, Eddie and John Michael Montgomery, with not only inspiring him musically but also with helping him develop a strict work ethic. ∙ The throwback sound of his first single, “Old Songs Like That,” earned Carmichael comparisons to similarly deep-voiced country greats Travis Tritt and Randy Travis. ∙ His 2018 Grand Ole Opry debut was deeply meaningful to Carmichael, because he had worked security at the legendary venue and dreamed of the day he’d take the stage. ∙ Hell on an Angel, his full-length debut, made Rolling Stone’s list of the 40 Best Country and Americana Albums of 2018. ∙ “I Do For You,” his first Top 40 country hit, was recorded in four different styles and tempos over the span of several years before he settled on the final version.
