Barak

Formed in 2009, Dominican Republic Christian music group Barak named themselves after the Hebrew word for “lightning,” a reference to their faith and a military leader in the Bible. ∙ Barak’s 2010 debut album, Mi Gran Amor, was a hit throughout Latin America. ∙ In 2016, Generación Radical, peaked at No. 7 on Billboard’s Latin Pop Albums chart and was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award. ∙ With more than 500 million views, Barak’s music videos have made the group a major live draw—something they captured on the in-concert album Shekinah. ∙ Lead singer Robert Green released a best-selling book, Dios Tiene Un Propósito Contigo (God Has a Purpose With You) in 2020.
