About Blair Dunlop
In the artist’s words: Describe one of your earliest musical memories in detail. I was obsessed with a Fisher-Price tape recorder that my mum bought me when I was about 2 or 3. I took it everywhere, I even slept with it. I guess I always fancied myself as an artist/producer! What are your top 3 all-time favorite albums on Apple Music, and why? Why did you choose these three albums in particular? Anaïs Mitchell, Anaïs Mitchell Jackson Browne, Late For the Sky (Remastered) Madvillain, Madvillainy Jackson Browne was my first songwriting hero. so literate yet so relatable. MF DOOM's abstract beauty and humour is unmatched. Anaïs is simply my favourite lyricist of all time. Find a song of yours on Apple Music that you love and tell us what makes it special. Tell us why you chose this song. “Spices from the East” Ostensibly, it's a love song, but through the prism of cooking. It explores themes of gratitude, guilt, and appreciation for the simple things in life, often the most rewarding. A product of post-Brexit Britain, it also touches on colonial history.
