About The Travelin' McCourys

A seasoned and technically savvy string group/jam band led by Ronnie (mandolin, vocals) and Rob McCoury (banjo) -- the sons of bluegrass legend Del McCoury -- the aptly -named Travelin' McCourys began as Del's backing band in the 1980s. Along with Ronnie and Rob, the group features the talents of fiddler Jason Carter, bassist Alan Bartram, and guitarist Cody Kilby. In addition to their own performances and recordings -- the McCoury family performs under numerous iterations -- the award-winning group has played with a host of impressive names, including the Allman Brothers, the Lee Boys, Phish, and Warren Haynes, among others. ~ James Christopher Monger
