About Donna the Buffalo
The eclectic jam band Donna the Buffalo formed near the college town of Ithaca, New York, in the early 1990s, as Grateful Dead-inspired second-generation jam bands like Phish, Blues Traveler, and the Dave Matthews Band were codifying the subgenre. Incorporating folk, zydeco, and country influences into their loose, improv-oriented tunes, they have maintained a consistently popular presence on the live circuit. They have also hosted an annual music and dance festival in their hometown of Trumansburg, New York, since 1991. Popular albums include 2000's POSITIVE FRICTION and 1996's THE ONES YOU LOVE.
