KOAN Sound

Bristol-based duo KOAN Sound produce acutely detailed, cinematic electronic music that incorporates styles such as glitch-hop and drum'n'bass, as well as modern classical elements. They started out making gritty dubstep, attracting attention with tracks like 2010's "Akira." 2011's Funk Blaster EP marked their debut for Skrillex's OWSLA imprint, and they moved towards more of a lush, organic sound with 2013's acclaimed Sanctuary (with Asa). KOAN Sound's ambitious, bass-heavy debut full-length, Polychrome, arrived in 2018. Several EPs followed, and the pair released their second album, the atmospheric and intricate Led by Ancient Light, in 2023. They continued crafting richly textural bass music with releases like the 2026 EP Moments of Opening.
