Thompson Square

Thompson Square is a husband-and-wife country duo, known for their pop- and rock-infused sound. ∙ Keifer and Shawna Thompson moved to Nashville during the same week in 1996, quickly connecting when they competed against each other in an amateur singing competition. ∙ After years of pursuing separate solo careers, they formed Thompson Square and released their debut single, “Let’s Fight,” in 2010. ∙ “Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not” was the duo’s breakthrough—going double Platinum and spending 40 weeks on Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, where it hit No. 1 in 2010. ∙ The pair’s self-titled 2011 album went Gold and reached No. 3 on Billboard’s Top Country Albums chart, while the follow-up, 2013’s Just Feels Good, peaked at No. 4. ∙ In both 2012 and 2013, Thompson Square was named Vocal Duo of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards. ∙ Following a split with their label and a few years away from the recording studio, the pair self-released a new album, Masterpiece, in 2018.
