About Roomful of Blues
Over the course of their decades-long existence, Roomful of Blues have become a franchise unto themselves, establishing a sound that's endured despite nearly constant changes in their lineup. More than 45 musicians have been part of Roomful of Blues since their formation in the late '60s; a number went on to notable careers of their own: Duke Robillard, Ronnie Earl, Lou Ann Barton, and Ron Levy, among others. While the band started out playing blues-rock, they evolved into purveyors of jump blues thanks to a mighty horn section. The band has a stellar reputation as a concert act; 2013's 45 Live demonstrated their ability to work a crowd. 2023's well-received In a Roomful of Blues marked their first studio outing in nearly a decade. 2025's Steppin' Out -- made with female vocalist D.D. Bastos --focused primarily on songs made famous by female artists.
